Welcome To Community Development / Social Responsibility

The Little Outlook Lodge places great importance in community development and corporate social responsibility. For us, business has never just been about promoting tourism and hospitality but also about taking the initiative to engage with the community, to play our part in wildlife conservation and to ensure a sustainable environment even for generations to come. What this means is that we have proudly embraced the principal of giving back to the society and we are committed to supporting the community through responsible and sustainable activities.

The long-term community development goal at Little Outlook is to foster thriving communities, both economically and socially. Our vision of a sustainable world is one where people lead happy, healthy lives while responsibly utilizing Earth's resources, leaving ample space for wildlife and wilderness.

Supporting Local Businesses

“If you want to go fast, go alone and if you want to go far, go together.” Here at the little Outlook, we want to go far and leave a lifelong legacy in Southern Africa. We have recognized that business success is linked to society’s progress hence we aim to grow together with our community.

We are surrounded by rural areas and local communities which are loaded with young talented individuals, rising entrepreneurs, farmers and skilled craftsmen. We have partnered with some of the individuals in the hope of empowering them and transforming their lives by promoting the work that they do.

Most of the artefacts and furniture that you will see at The Little Outlook was sourced locally within the community and it helps add a touch of culture and authenticity which stands out.

In addition, we have also partnered with small-scale farmers within the community to support and help them boost their agriculture business. Most of our vegetables are sourced from the surrounding community and are always served fresh and with love. We have created a relationship with the community and the suppliers that we have engaged with and we hope to continue in the same spirit and to partner with more local entrepreneurs as we grow.

Wildlife Conservation

It is without a doubt that we live with and are surrounded by wildlife in our community. The wildlife is what partially defines us as a community and is a major reason for the massive influx of tourists from all over the world. At The Little Outlook, we place great importance in protecting wildlife and being a team player in the fight against poaching and animal cruelty. We support local initiatives and programs that are aimed at promoting conservation.

Currently we sponsor a local wildlife Conservation Trust called the Painted Dog Trust. The trust is aimed at conserving the diminishing number of Painted Dogs (also known as the wild dog) in Zimbabwe. Less than 7,000 wild dogs, are left in the wild and this is primarily due to human-wildlife conflict. Thousands of snares are located and eliminated each year that kill and could potentially kill the painted dogs. We will continue taking a stand and fighting for the wildlife.

At The Little Outlook, we want to bring a change in the world but we are going to start by initiating that change in our communities and we hope you partner with us and grow with us in our journey for a better life for both the people and the wildlife.

“My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much at the Little Outlook. The room was clean and well appointed. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. The service was very pleasant and accommodating. We had dinner there one night and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend eating there. The location is about twenty minute walk to the falls. There’s a new hotel being built next door. It was a pleasant stay.”

“Nice small lodge in Vic Falls with excellent service. The chef Pie’oh prepares breakfast as to your liking. We have had dinner in the lodge too and it was better than in the popular places in town. I asked for alcohol free beer which they didn’t have available and within no time I found some in my fridge. The place is highly recommendable. They will also advise and assist you with all activities. Price / Value wise probably the best place in town. I’d definitely come again.”
